Privacy

In short

• This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools in its pages.
• This site stores nothing you type. Our contact form opens your own email app, and your message reaches us only if you send it.
• We use what you send us only to reply to you, and we do not sell it.
• Two companies handle information for us: the one that hosts this website, which keeps a record of each visit, and the one that hosts our email. We read the website host’s records to run the site, protect it and see how much traffic it gets and where from. Beyond them, we share it only when the law requires it.

When you write to us

Our contact form sends nothing by itself. When you press “Request a walkthrough”, your own email app opens with your message filled in, addressed to info@zal.cloud. Nothing reaches us until you press Send there. “Copy message” only puts the same message on your own clipboard.

When your email arrives, we receive:

• what you filled in: your name, work email, organization (if you gave one), which best describes you, and your note (if you wrote one);
• anything else you write, and the address you send it from;
• the technical details every email carries, such as when it was sent, the mail servers it passed through and, with some email providers, the internet address of the device you sent it from.

Your email passes through your email provider and ours on its way to us, so please do not include patient information or anything else sensitive. No way of sending or keeping information is free of risk.

When you visit the site

This site runs on the servers of a hosting company. Those servers keep a record of each request, which typically includes your IP address and the approximate location and network worked out from it, the date and time, the page or file asked for, your browser type, the page you came from and whether the request worked.

Every page and file comes from zal.cloud itself, fonts included: the site loads nothing from other websites.

The sign-in page

The ZAL PACS portal is in design. Sign-in is not open yet. The sign-in page does not send what you type there to us or to anyone else, and this site does not store it. “Keep me signed in” sets no cookie.

Cookies and your browser

This site sets no cookies of its own. Your browser may keep up to four small notes for it on your own device, in what browsers call local and session storage. Each holds only the value “1”, none identifies you, and none leaves your device.

• One remembers that you pressed “Pause the storm”, until you press it again or clear this site’s data in your browser.
• Three last only as long as that tab. They remember that the home page’s opening scene, the trip through the portal and the sign-in page’s first lightning have already played there, so these do not play in full every time.

If our host’s automatic protection against attacks takes a visit for automated traffic, it may show a short check first; passing it leaves the host’s pass in your browser for one hour. That pass may be a cookie.

If your browser blocks these notes, the site still works: an animation may play again, or a pause may not be remembered.

Browser privacy signals

This site does not follow your activity across other websites, and we have added nothing to it that lets another company do so. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. So the site works the same whether or not your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control: there is no tracking across websites for them to switch off, and the host keeps its records of each visit either way.

How we use information

• What you send us: only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing.
• The host’s records: only to run the site, protect it from abuse and see how much traffic it gets and where from.

Who handles it

• The company that hosts our email receives and stores the messages sent to info@zal.cloud.
• The company that hosts this website handles every visit and keeps the records described above under its own terms.

Apart from these two companies, we share your information only when the law requires it.

Your own email provider keeps its copy of what you send, under its own terms. Two links on our viewer preview page, in the credit for its images, lead to other websites. If you follow one, the sites it leads to handle your visit under their own terms and learn that you came from zal.cloud.

How long we keep it

• Your emails and our replies: for up to 6 months after your last message, then we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Our email provider may keep a deleted copy for a time under its own terms.
• The host’s records: the copies we can see are kept for up to 30 days; the host keeps its own under its own privacy notice, which sets no fixed period.
• The notes in your browser: for as long as the tab or, for the pause, until you undo it or clear it.

Your choices

You can write to info@zal.cloud to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it. We may first check that the request comes from you. We cannot delete the copy in your own mailbox, and the host’s records are deleted on its own schedule (above). You can clear or block this site’s notes in your browser’s settings at any time.

Children

This site is for professionals. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that a child under 13 has written to us, we will delete the message.

What this notice covers

This notice covers the zal.cloud website. The ZAL PACS portal is in design; when it opens, it will have its own privacy notice.

Changes to this notice

When we change this notice, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change would affect information you have already sent us, we will ask you before it applies to that information.
